“It was hard to retrace my steps but I knew it was meaningless to continue in this frame of mind… Tomorrow I will follow my inner guidance and start afresh…” ~John Brierley

Date: 2015 June 27
Route: Pobeña to Castro-Urdiales
Distance: —- km (— mi)
Departure: 5:50AM
Arrival: 10:45AM

There was a lovely sunrise over the Bay of Biscay and the first part of the route bordered the cllffs.

About 90% of the route was on some type of pavement.

there was a choice between an upper route into the mountains and this lower one by the sea. We were told both were along the road.

A few kilometers after entering Castro, we began a walk along the promenade of the beach.

My friends, thank you for following me on my journey thus far. The pressure of trying to blog while being fully immersed in the Camino, fully present with it and with mysel, however, has lead me to make the decision to curtail the blogging for the time being; to take a hiatus.

I will be checking In with my family regularly so that they know where I am and that I am safe. I will also be reachable from time-to-time via Facebook. Thank you for understanding my need to disengage. I wish you a Buen Camino, wherever your path may lead you, and will look forward to reconnecting later.

xo,

Signature Elissa

I’m sorry that we won’t be hearing from you but it is your camino, not ours. Enjoy, hate, revel in it every moment, we can wait.

Wise decision. Stick to the here and now and take the opportunity to be truly present. Looking forward to reconnecting with your travelogue in due course. In the meantime, go well.

Hi Elissa, I hope your choice to pull back from your blog has helped your journey on this Camino. We both know it has its challenges and it is easy to compare it to the Francés. Thinking of you on your journey and I look forward to reading all your posts. Buen Camino, peregrina!
